Near the plantations where La Virginia tea is grown in Misiones, there’s a natural wonder that not everyone knows about—a group of tea-loving coatis known as “The Coatés.”

These bold (yet adorable) mammals are obsessed with drinking natural tea and, of course, finding the best treats to dip into this noble beverage. For them, every hour is teatime. They act in groups, moving in an organized fashion. Their surprising maneuvers are highly amusing to tourists, who, distracted and unaware, end up dropping chipacitos, bay biscuits, tutucas, cremonas, and all sorts of snacks.

So now you know—if you’re in Misiones and spot a Coaté, your nougat bar might already be missing. Blink and—poof—it's gone!

And if you’re not visiting Misiones, you’ll probably see them on TV, in an ad somewhere, or lurking around social media.
