Just like with Delfines, Recaldes, and Animales Poseídos, this time 1882 is connecting with something we see as positive: giving a hand to an ordinary entrepreneur from the heart of Córdoba to help their business succeed. We decided to do it with good vibes and humor, but above all with the hope that things go amazingly well for them. That’s why we chose someone who would never do TV—like Renta Car, a simple neighborhood car service. The goal: to get them 1,882 clients.

Tal como pasó con Delfines, Recaldes y Animales Poseídos, esta vez 1882 se relaciona con algo que nos parece positivo: darle una mano a un emprendedor común y corriente del corazón de Córdoba para triunfar en su negocio. Decidimos hacerlo con buena onda y humor, pero sobre todo con el ánimo de que les vaya bárbaro. Por eso elegimos a alguien que jamás haría televisión, como Renta Car, una simple remisería de barrio. El título ya lo dice todo. 1882 ansiosos y un capuchón. Una vida a las corridas, con nervios, errores de tipeo, tics y un gran sobrepeso de YouTube, Facebook y Twitter. ¿Para qué contar esta vida de ansias con un mimo triste y un violín de fondo, si podemos usar un helicóptero negro, un capuchón de 9 metros y 1882 ansiosos?

The title says it all: 1,882 anxious people and a cap. A life on the run, with nerves, typos, tics, and a heavy overload of YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter. Why tell this life of anxiety with a sad mime and a violin playing in the background, when we can use a black helicopter, a 9-meter cap, and 1,882 anxious people?

En nombre del pueblo cordobés y entre citas a Sábato y Vilma Palma e Vampiros, le explicamos a la Real Academia Española las razones culturales por las cuales "fernet" merece un lugar en el diccionario. En definitiva, nos hicimos amigos de la Real Academia y las noticias son alentadoras, pero no vamos a esperar cuatro años hasta que se publique el próximo diccionario. Por eso, como buenos "fernerds" que somos, decidimos hacer justicia editando un diccionario con la palabra "fernet".

On behalf of the people of Córdoba, and with quotes from Sábato and Vilma Palma e Vampiros, we explained to the Royal Spanish Academy the cultural reasons why “fernet” deserves a place in the dictionary. In short, we became friends with the Academy and the news is encouraging, but we’re not going to wait four years for the next dictionary to be published. That’s why, as true “fernerds,” we decided to do justice by editing a dictionary with the word “fernet.”
