There are many classic food-and-drink pairings: sausages with mashed potatoes, cured ham with Russian salad, fernet with Coca, pasta with stew, and mate with bizcochitos — among others, though few are as iconic. But this last duo wasn’t quite living up to its potential. So, we decided to give mate the treat it truly deserves — we swapped the bizcochito for a bizcochuelo.

“Let’s bake thousands of fluffy cakes and take them to a place where there are thousands of mates! Uruguay, for example.”
